The presence of a fine blades makes a razor saw the perfect tool to cut plastic, wood or metal, maintaining a fine edge on both sides of the cut. These tools are also available with more teeth per inch, and primarily used for fine inlay work on instruments or inlaid dollhouse furniture. These tools usually allow the users to cut only on the pull stroke. These tools have ultra thin blades which greatly serves the purpose of cutting small pieces close to flush with the surface in preparation for sanding.

Razor saws contain the strengthened back which enables the carpenters or wood workers to cut straight lines that are really very useful for miter cuts in metal or wood pieces. They are seen today as the widely used tools for cutting wood, plastic and metal and play a pivotal role in cutting a huge assortment of modeling materials. They work well for a wide range of models that vary from plastic airplane kits to railroad cars and tracks.
